UV 2 Ostrich Plumes are dyed with ultraviolet reflectance treatment. Ostrich Herls are used in many classic salmon flies. It is good also for body material for smaller flies and as a throat hackle for spey and intruder flies or use for tube fly wings.

Package contains one feather. Length about 25 cm, fibre length about 6 cm. Enough material for numerous flies.

Ultravision UV2 is a proprietary process of dying that enhances material, adds visibility and natural color spectrums. It doesn't automatically mean that the material will shine when pointed with UV light. Double dye process gives UV2 materials and flies the added UVF/UVR ultraviolet wave lengths. It works in the following two ways:

• UVF is the UV Fluorescence. It is common on everything from street signs to bass lures. Lighter colors have stronger UVF effect on human eyes. Darker colors do not have this effect.
• UVR is the UV Reflectance. It is a spectrum of wave lengths humans can not perceive yet is extremely common in the animal and insect world. UVR allows mayflies to find mates, and bees to find flowers. Many male birds and bugs have a strong natural UVR signature.
