In accordance with the new European Union regulation, placing lead-containing fishing weights and lures on the market will be prohibited following transition periods. The prohibition does not apply to the use of products already owned by the customer, but only to their sale. The regulation enters into force 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal. The transition periods for fishing products are:

Lead wire and split shot / detachable weights: 6 months

Lures and weights weighing less than 50 grams: 3 years

Lures and weights weighing over 50 grams and up to 1 kilogram: 6 years
