Metz Signature Saddle is a rooster saddle for tying dry flies. High-quality and stiff hackle fibers make tying high-floating dry flies easy. In a saddle, the variation in hackle fiber length is smaller than in necks, so we recommend choosing a saddle when the fly tier ties more dry flies of the same size. In these saddles, most of the feathers are best suited for tying #12 - #16 size flies, but there may be slight variations in size between individual saddles.

Metz Signature Saddle features:

  • Rooster saddle suitable for tying dry flies
  • In most feathers, the hackle fiber length is suitable for #12 - #16 size dry flies, but each saddle is unique and natural variations may occur
  • Saddle length is approximately 25 - 30 cm and width is approximately 10 - 15 cm
