Turkey Biot Quills can be used in same purposes as Stripped Goose Biots. Compared to goose biots, turkey biots are more longer making them workable for many different use in fly tying. Biot quills are suitable for nymph bodies, tails, wings, legs and antennae. Biot quills are located on the narrower half of the feather. You can tear biot quills gently off or split the feather in half by splitting the rachis (shaft) with sharp blade or scissors. Longer standard barbs on the wider side of the feather have detritions and are not suitable for fly tying.
Feathers are about 25-30 cm long and biot quills' barbs about 1-3 cm. Colors may vary slightly. One pair of feathers per package.
NOTE: Only biot quills can be used for fly tying, longer barbs on wider side of the feather are unusable for fly tying.
