Genuine seal fur is beautifully translucent and it cannot be fully imitated by using synthetic materials. Seal is used as a body material in many traditional salmon flies, and the seal's translucency is the main reason. Seal can be used also in many streamers, nymph and pupa as a body material.

Seal specie is Callorhinus ursinus, which is not in CITES list.
