Veniard Doetail is similar material to male deer's bucktail. Doetails generally have finer, softer and shorter hair than bucktails, which are more well known in fly tying. The actual size of the tail is also smaller than what bucktails are. Great hair material for smaller baitfish patterns for seatrout, saltwater & pike fishing, freshwater streamers and salmon flies. Use for tails and wings.

Veniard Doetail features:

  • Tail of female deer
  • Can be used similarly as bucktail hair
  • Use as a wing and tail material
  • Usually finer and softer hair than in bucktails
  • Hair length approximately 4 - 8 cm
  • Size approximately 15 x 9 cm
  • Please note that the structure of the hair varies in each individual bucktail. Dyed tails may have lighter color at the base of the hair and darker tip.
